After you register

If you are cycling to work, make sure your bike is ready-air tires and check to make sure they hold air.  If needed, bring your bike in to a local bike shop for a tune-up.  Make sure you have a helmet, rear-view mirror if desired, and appropriate backpack or commuter bag that you can ride with.  Pre-ride your route if you are a new commuter.

As a pedestrian, make sure you have appropriate backpack, computer bag, or satchel.  Umbrellas, hats, raincoats, are readily accessible-just in case!  You may want to pre-walk or run your route if you are unsure of timing.

Walkers and rollers-especially cyclists or any rolling participant that spends the majority of time on streets will want to be visible-think bright high visibility colors!  Remember mornings are very cold, afternoons are much warmer in May-dress in layers so you are prepared for both.
